We currently support a leading terrestrial broadcast and telecommunications infrastructure provider with all aspects of their FM provision, including the scheduling and deployment of their in-house engineering resource. As part of our critical works protocol we provide additional focus on landscaping works (to ensure foliage doesn’t impede satellite based communication networks), perimeter security, fly tipping and high-risk waste removal.
We have worked with a technology partner to scope and implement enhanced system functionality to address some of the specific challenges faced by this sector. This includes providing engineers with the co-ordinates of a site via the mobile technology solution, to enable them to locate remote locations which often have no postal address. Also, live surveys have been introduced which can be completed via the technology in challenging conditions, such as when climbing communications masts. The engineers are able to complete the data during the inspection, with no further admin required following their descent, so a balance between the comprehensiveness of the survey and simplicity of use was essential.
